
The Florence Coltman Award is affiliated with the library's forthcoming anthology of creative writing to be published in 2010. The collection will include short stories and essays (fiction & nonfiction), and poetry that celebrate the unique beauty and quirky flavor of Delaware's southern end.
The award winner will receive: $100.00, an award certificate and publication in the anthology.
Fiction or Nonfiction - (Mainstream/Literary short stories; Genre short stories; Memoirs/Personal Essays; Magazine Feature Articles). 1500 words maximum.
Poetry - (Rhyming Poems or non-rhyming poems). 60 lines per poem maximum
Deadline - March 15, 2010
Entry Fee - FREE
All entries must be original, unpublished work and not accepted by a publisher at the time of submission.
Include cover page and two copies of each submission
Entries must be typed on one side of 8-1/2 x 11 white paper. Poems may be single or double-spaced. Fiction or essay entries must be double-spaced.
Multiple pages must be numbered in the top right-hand corner. Please include a slug line at the top of consecutive pages with the genre and title(i.e. short story/The Visitor).
On a separate cover sheet, entries must contain the following information:
