Friends Logo Contest - DEADLINE EXTENDED!

The Friends of the Lewes Public Library is seeking a new logo for the “Friends”. The logo contest is open to anyone in the Lewes area. We especially encourage students in the area to submit their logo ideas. If a student’s logo is selected, this would be a great addition to a college portfolio! The new logo will be used on the Friends’ portion of the library’s webpage, letterhead, fliers and other Friends’ documents.

In creating the logo, please remember the logo should be clean, easily discernible, and digitally rendered. Please be aware of any copyright infringements or previously used logos.

All entries will become the property of the Friends of the Lewes Public Library. A final decision will be made by May 31, 2013.

Please download and complete the contest entry form: Microsoft Word (.docx) or Adobe PDF. Artists should submit their entries no later than midnight on May 14, 2013. A completed entry form, paper copy of the logo and an electronic version of the logo on a DVD should be sent to:

Contest Rules:

The purpose of the contest is to design a logo for the Friends of the Lewes Public Library (FLPL). The logo will be used online, in print, on publications and in displays. Our mission is to serve the public, so we invite you to design the new logo.

Submission Guidelines of the Design of the Logo

• Flexibility is a key requirement.
  • Ability to resize it easily;
  • Ability to use in black/white and color settings;
  • Ability to use in high quality printing, and;
  • Ability to vary the size of the logo from small to large
• Avoid the use of similar existing logos or other copyrighted images.
• Submit the logo design in scalable vector graphic format (EPS) or similar high quality and adjustable format. Also, submit logo as a JPG.
• Colors should not be halftones and gradients unless created inside a vector graphics program. Color must be CMYK or RGB, no spot colors. Limit design to no more than 3 colors.
