The new Lewes Library Legacy Fund enables individuals who care about the Library to make gifts through their wills, as well as other charitable giving instruments, to benefit the Library for perpetuity.
Several bequest gifts have already been made or pledged to the Library and our Friends' organization and more are expected.
Benefit the Library - and Yourself!
New charitable giving instruments allow you to generate significant income, realize tax savings, avoid capital gains, help your grandchildren - and benefit the Library, all at the same time.
A Charitable Remainder Trust, for example, can generate a high guaranteed stream of income for you and your spouse for life, while providing an immediate tax benefit. By using appreciated securities or property to fund the Trust, you also can avoid the significant capital gains you might otherwise incur.
A Charitable Lead Trust can help you avoid paying taxes on high current income (such as a bonus, stock option, or sale of a property), and pass the principal on to an heir or even yourself at some future time, while benefiting the Library during the interim.
A Wealth Replacement Plan can help you make a generous gift to the Library via bequest, while meeting the needs of your family as well.
There are many creative ways like these to benefit both the Library and yourself.
We will be glad to discuss your needs, in strict confidence, at any time. Please contact any member of the Board of Trustees.
